Please join us for this wonderful, FREE concert–SI Philharmonic’s gift to our Staten Island community to offer healing and hope. Our program includes two world premieres–“Threnody,” by Howard Fox, based on a poem by Jonathan Foc, and “Hope is the Thing With Feathers,” by Steve Liotta, based on a poem by Emily Dickinson. Four wonderful singers will join us for this event–Jeannine Otis, Emily Okaah, John Griffin, and Larry Marshall, performing inspirational songs, like “You Raise Me Up,” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” The program also includes the Faure “Pavene,” Barber’s “Adagio for Strings,” and excerpts from Elgar’s “Enigma Variations.” The performance will be conducted by Scott Jackson Wiley.
